Default rear bumper brace

thanks to all in advance. my 74 as with most has had the rear bumper replaced. question, mine is missing the two bumper braces. are they necessary and if so could someone that has one off, please provide me with the measurement so I see if I can get two bent. got to be cheaper that shipping cost. again thanks for any help.

If you go to a flex or fiberglass they wouldn't be necessary. The bumpers covers are firm enough. But if you want it to look original underneath then you would. Mine were broke in two pieces so I just glued them together so it looks original but really does nothing. I have the true split flex from Ecklers. I don't think they're that much money, maybe around $35.00. Maybe someday I'll buy them, maybe not.
