Differential drive shaft sizes?

Differential drive shaft sizes?
I am trying to put in my new rear end but the front connection to the drive shaft is smaller than my old one. Can I just switch the input yoke or should I get a different U Joint, or is there something else I should do?

A new U-joint will do the trick. i have the same (similar) situation on my car. It appears that the driveshaft and/or diff were replaced and simply put they don't match. Either the driveshaft is bigger than the yoke or vice versa. The local parts store had to dig out a combo u-joint that was both sizes. Shouldn't be a big deal.

samething thing here. did my rearend and ended up with 2 ujaoint that did not fit.....turned out the the yoke at the ranny is larger than that of the diff!!

Thanks guys. Did the new ujoint thing and the parts store had it in stock, I was pretty amazed. I also had to change out the braces that held the driveshaft in place, I had to go to the loop type, another trip to several parts stores on that one. Just got the car running and took it for a drive, it sure goes through the gears quick, and gets out of 1st really quick.

I know this is an old post but I just ran into this problem myself.
Just installed a 67 BB 4.10 into a 71 car and hoping someone has the part number for the conversion U-Joint I need
The 67 rear end takes a smaller U joint size.
