Default Is 2800 too much?

I just had my trans rebuilt and had a shift kit put in. I got a L-88 converter with a 2800 stall. Do you think that is too much? I have a new engine with 360 hp but only 3.08 in the rear end. I hoping the 2800 stall would help improve 0-60 time.

Can't say if it's too much for your application, I would need to know the cam specs, intake design, etc, but 2800 stall is not too much for the street. I've run as much as 3500 on the street and you'd never really know it. Just be sure to run an auxillary tranny cooler.

Generally with an auto and 3.08:1 rear gears you are running about 2400rpm at cruise or 50-60. A 2800 stall will run around not quit stalled and generate some serious heat. Like the previous post says - get a tranny cooler.
