t top question

I am thinking about getting another set of t tops for my 1970 vette. When did they go from the double latch top to the single latch style.

I think the switch year was 78

it makes a huge difference i curse the double latch ones every time i turn to look over my shoulder

Can anyone confirm this for me. I think I might have found a set from a 1976. Just want to make sure they are the double latch type. Thanks

Capl27 has already confirmed it. 78. Anything before 78 is double latch. Everything after is single latch.
You can swap the two types by changing the halo panel hardware.

if you are looking for additional head room look for the later ones with the smoked glass or plastic.....no headliner and one latch give you a lot of room

I was looking for more head room and thinking about not installing the "headliner", just painting the inside. Was looking on line and found one piece acrylic tops that would allow more head room but would also be much lighter. Anyone use one of these. How is the fit, etc? Are you happy with it?
