American Racing Torque Thrust II
I would like to put the American Racing wheels with the gray painted spokes on my '69. I believe they are the Torque Thrust II. Is there any problems like interference with calipers? Thanks.

I think that you are talking about the TT D's, they only come in 15" and various widths, no problems with fitting your '69. Personally they are my favourite but being 15" speed rated tires are very limited to come by, I imagine this is one reason for the popularity of the TT II's (all silver) as they are available in the larger sized rims.

Thanks for the info. I am looking for the painted gray spoked one. Don't need the speed rating as I am going for the looks rather than the speed.

If you want the look, there are two types to get.
Vintage Wheels at 16x8 http://vintagewheelworks.com/wheels.html
These are about 1k per set.
Or the original Torque thrust D's 15x7 at about $645 per set.
Hope this helps

Actually they now come in 16" -> 20" AR part# is the CL205 same as the TTII's but with the gray ceneter.

Re: American Racing Torque Thrust II (loflite)
Hi loflite:
I have grey center 15x8 TT II's on my 73. These wheels have to be ordered special with the grey powder coating. The AR web page says 8 to 12 week wait, I waited a little over a month for mine. I had a set of V rated Comp TA 255-60x15 tires so I purchaced the 15's. The 3.75" back spacing recommended by AR provided enough clearance. I have some pictures posted on the forums members web pages, here is the address. http://temp.corvetteforum.net/c3/chuck73/
The wheels look great, they give you that TT D look without the caliper clearance problems.

Chuck I fully concur with you - they look great. Note to self, next years project = stinger hood + TTD's.

Yes the original TT "D"'s will hit the calipers on a disc braked C-3. You would need to use wheel spacers to mount the TT "D" wheel on your car. You will need a spacer thicker than 1/8" to clear the caliper. The lug stud length
depends on the spacer thickness.
I went through this process about six months ago, I liked the original wheel but didn't want the problems that go along with using spacers.
If you go to AR's web page they have a whole page dedicated just to these wheels. The set I have on my car are the first set I seen on a car around here. I haven't been to any cruise nights yet this year with the car but anyone who has seen pictures of the car have made positive comments about the wheels
The look I was looking for was that of a 60's competion car, I think I got it.
