Default create engine

I am a new member to corvette forum and this is my first post. What I need in the way of help is that I purchased a 1976 vette with a 350 create engine. The Serial # on the engine block is V0702ZZ3 and I would like to know what year that this engine was put together and what was supposed to be standard as far carborator. intake an heads. I hope there is someone out there than can help.

No way of telling from that number. There are casting dates on the block and heads, but since it's a crate engine; those dates are almost meaningless in determining when it was installed in your car. It will give you a 'no later than' date.

Your car originally came with a quadrajet. There's a number on it that you can use to look up its original application.

Post Pics of the crate engine. May help someone ID it.

The block should have a casting number on the top rear by the bell housing. It will be probably be an eight digit number ie 10243880. We can go from there with that number. The casting number on the cylinder head under the valve cover will further indentify what you have.

Not 100% sure on this, but being as though this appears to be a gm parts performance crate engine, I would try contacting your local chevy parts man.

I tried this and they were no help and I even went to the Detroit Autorama and talked to the GM Parts people there and gave them the casting number and they could not hel me out

The block has a "stamping" number on it also. It is located on the right front engine pad. This pad sticks out from under the right cylinder head. That number may be what they are giving you. That number will get you nowhere. What you want is the "casting number" on the rear top portion of the engine block behind the distributor. My "stamping" number is 2 M0115 1G35 on my small block crate motor. It seems to be in a similar format to what you are stating that you have. Try to get a "casting" number. I hope I have helped.
