Default 78 Radiator help

I just got a new radiator for my '78 and I wanted to know the easiest way to install it (I kind of forgot the steps I took to take the old one out), and where exactly the new seals go, I have a good idea on where they go but I just wanted to be sure. The old ones fell apart when I took the old radiator out. If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate them.

I believe you would find a 1978 assembly instruction manual (AIM) helpful for re-assembly and especially placement of the radiator seals. Radiator seals come in two sets...I think they call them shroud seal kit and radiator seal kit. The rad kit includes the frame support and hood while the other is installed on the top of the rad to seal it with the shroud.

The reference old A Man lists is pretty accurate expect I'm not sure what they are referring to the nylon bolts or nuts they are referring to...didn't find those on my 78. Also, my shroud had only one bolt on each side.

Two seals must be installed before installing the radiator. The critical ones get installed to the radiator support frame that is still in the car, assuming you did not remove radiator with the frame. This is where AIM would be helpful...it has a schematic to eyeball the exact location. These particular seals are squarish and are mounted to follow the natural curve of the top of the radiator. And there is a size difference of these depending on whether your radiator is heavy-duty (L82) or lite duty...L48.

Drop me an email if you questions.

Thanks guys. I have found a picture of where the seals go on the Eckler's website right in the part description. But I will order the assembly manual, I know it'll come in handy at some point again.
