these look comfortable...are they?
whats the deal with the "T" part? does that go behind the seatbacks to keep it from sliding? my seats stay almost all the way back and it dosnt apear that there is enough room for that...
i need advise please....and some pix would be nice too :)
thanx ya'll !
Corvette Central's latest catalog has a new product. It's a center console storage unit and arm rest that mounts in the same spot. It looks much more functional and modern.
I don't have pics, but like having my "T" pad. It is more comfortable than the fiberglass e-brake cover, and helps prevent cracks and breaks in the e-brake cover.

Re: T-Pad armrest...do you use one? (tshort)
Travis that is a nice looking interior shot. Good job.
I have the armrest pad in my car too. I think it is still a little too low for serious use. You almost have to lean over to use. But I would not give it up. I was looking at getting a new leather one at the last Corvette Expo while it was in Knoxville.
I got my T pad from Al Knoch. It is very comfortable. My seats are all the way back and fitting the T in the back is not an issue. I'll think you'll find that the T has to go to the rear.
Since my parking brake doesn't work, it's not an issue, BUT you won't be able to pull the p-brake all the way up with the T pad in place.
I got the T pad to hide my rough looking p-brake console, which I need to either paint or replace. I recommend you get one. Here's my research:
Ecklers
$39.99 p183
MAD
$39.99 p195
Corv Amer
$40.00 p78
Al Knoch
$35.00
I did this 6-months ago, so I can't be sure the page numbers are still right.
I also have the armrest, and I like it. Having gotten used to seeing it there, I think the e-brake area would look bare without it.
Travis, nice lookin' car. Those Corbeau harnesses could be the answer for me. I don't have shoulder belts, and the passenger side lapbelt doesn't retract, so I have to get something done. Are the harnesses a hassle to get into and out of? Were they easy to install? Where'd you get them?
This item must have been around for at least 3 years because it was in my '69 when i bought her.
Nice item.Great for a little extra storage but I like the way it brings up the t-pad cushion another 2-3 inches for more arm comfort.

Interesting. Corvette Central lists it as a new item. I wonder who actually makes the thing? And it would be pretty frustrating if you spent $140 and it still wasn't at the right hight for an arm rest.

The height with the console and t-pad works out perfectly for me as an armrest.I would think just the t-pad would be too low at least for me.
The unit must be a new item they're selling but like I said i've had it the 3 years i've owned my '69.
I wondered why I've never seen this item on any other vette at shows and such.
i thought maybe the previous owner had made it or had it made.
I have one in my '69 for about a year now. I think I got it at Eckler's. Good height for me without the pad. Convienant little storage area. Also I was always worried about cracking the original as I use it as a arm support to get situated when I get in.
