I put the can in my hand or between my legs. I like my beer, I mean my soda, in my right hand, and my cigar in my left. I steer with my knees, unless a head is in my lap. If that's the case, I let God take over.
ZIP corvette has a couple of holders...one slips over the parking brake handle, that dosnt seem like a good idea...
the other mounts on the console just ahead of it...im considering one...
id really like to hear some input from guys who have them as well as some pix too...the're like $30....ouch!
but if they worked and wernt in the way then id buy one anyway...things get warm between the legs...yuck!
For a temporary solution, don't most Quickie Marts sell the little plastic ones with little clips that hang on the door and clip down into where the window sits?
I end up slipping mine in between my hip, seat belt, and center console (assuming there is room).
I have one that fits under the parking brake handle at the bottom of the console - just behind the power window switches - it works well and I can still use the parking brake - however it significantly reduces space in your seat - My leg rubs against it constantly so I only install it when I need it.
I have on that clamps onto the parking brake handle........and believe it or not I bought it at Canadian Tire. Works well and the price was right. I take it off though when I am not using it and store it in the back.
I just bought one of the small plastic console trays (you know, the flat ones with a couple of drink holders, CD holders, etc.) and placed it directly behind the passenger seat. Unless it's a really big drink, it's NOT really that awkward to reach behind the seat for a drink and it holds it there nice and steady.
I use the one that fits under the parking brake handle. Ecklers P/N A4782. It fits two different size cups. I don't use the screws to anchor to the console so that I can remove it when not used.

I have the same one rms73 has and I use it the same way with no screws
so I can take it in and out easily and it works great,it also has a small section in front for change or misc. It's a great buy I belive it was less than 20 bucks.
Here's a pic of the one many of you guys are describing that goes under and around the e-brake handle. I like it, and e-brake is still functional....er...if mine actually worked.

Ditto..........and when not using them for refreshments, they stow a cell phone perfectly
On my 80, the door pannel pockets were looking real ruff but the rest of the door panel was great. I used a razor blade to carefull remove the door pocket stitching. Went to an RV shop and bought two of the good quality fold down cup holders (not the cheapy fold down ones found at some of the parts houses). I then mounted them where the pockets used to be.
This worked out great for me, but a lot of folks won't like the idea of doing this to a dorr panel. Since the pockets on mine were in bad shape and the area is carpeted it looks original. Also locates the out of the way.
