Ive got a gm crate LS3 for my 4x4 project, just needing to know weather the engine comes with a fuel regulator?, if it doesnt come with one, whats the best place in fuel system for the regulator?, ive heard the corvette c6's have it in the fuel tank?
which side of the fuel system is your regulator, before the fuel rails or after??
also do know the thread size on the fuel rail inlet?
cheers
dave
Mine is before. As you can see on the picture above it is in the rear of the car. This type of regulator is used on the later model LS motors and works very well. The one line goes forward to the rails. The two in the back are feed and return line to tank.

any help?

Yes the LS3 is a so called returnless system. There is only 1 fuel line that goes up to the fuel rails. There is a return at the fuel filter?regulator as you can see in my picture. You can put that anywhere in the system but I choose to keep it near the tank so there is a short return fuel line back to tank.

ok, thats what I thought, take a look at my ls3 crate engine tho, notice the tube with the blue grumit on it, and how it joins up between the 2 fuel rails?, unless thats not the fuel rails?
ok thats good to know, at the end of the fuel rail, at the front of engine on the drivers side, you can see a little black cap, what goes on there??
and also whats the name of the fuel regulator your using?, or what type do they call themselfs?, also what psi of pressure do you run on yours?
cheers
dave
The cap is a test port for fuel pressure. You hook up a pressure gauge to it.
The fuel regulator is just that, a fuel filter/regulator. Just go to the parts store and ask for a filter regulator for a C6 Corvette. It is internally regulated for around 60PSI fuel pressure. There is no way to adjust this but that is what the LS3 runs on. I have seen 600HP with this setup and no real mods to it.

thanks for that info, so that little cap is enough to stop fuel leaking out?
Iam in the uk, can you buy this sort of thing from summit?
No that little cap is just that a cap. Keeps and dirt orgrime outvof the valve. There is a valve under the cap. Kind of like a bicycle tire valve that keeps the fuel from getting out. So leave the cap on to keep dirt out. I would imagine Summit has the proper fittings to put a pressure gauge in there.
Have you checked out http://ls1tech.com/forums/ ? It's a forum for all types of ls conversions and I beleive there is a section cover what you're doing. It's a great site and not vette specific like here.
Also, check my blog on my conversion to see how I handled the fuel return. http://ls273stingray.blogspot.com/se...max-results=50 I use a '98 - '02 F-body (Camaro/Firebird) in tank fuel pump w/internal regulator, fuel lines are looped to return the fuel to the pump, and an in-line filter. It's very simple.
Go to Ebay and there are C5/6 fuel filter set-ups there with the AN adapter fittings already attached for under $100. Street&Performance is a good web site for some photos of C2/3 Covette LS conversions. We used to have a great thread but, for some reason it was deleted and I think another should be started don't know why that original thread was deleted except there were lots of photos and some IDIOT probably just looked at the storage space it was using and kicked it out

Sorry didn't see you were doing 4X4 conversion, LS1 Tech or Pirate 4X4 might be good places to look. Also try Power Block Television web site for Extreme 4X4 channel for some videos.
