I have a Demon 750 and would like to add a fast idle solenoid. I tried the Holley bracket but not way even with modification will it fit. has anyone fabbed a bracket or found one that will fit? I cant believe Barry Grant never made a bracket for this purpose. The holes are in the base plate but because of their clunky linkage the holley bracket will not fit. Very frustrating. Any pics of brackets would be awesome
On my '64 I mounted a solonoid to the windshield washer pump screw. The solonoid pulls a "ball chain" (like used for cruise control) and I can adjust the amount of pull by switching *****. I also made a small "turn buckle" out of two "ends" and a small screw to fine tune the adjustment. The chain then attaches to the throttle linkage to pull it.
I can use it for a fast idle (no choke tower on my Holley) or to set a launch RPM. It's real nice when you have a cold engine and approach a stop light. You can flip the switch and not worry about stalling.
Thank everyone but it doesnt sound like anyone has any solid ideas. Im very surprised that no one has done this. Well I guess Ill try to fab something that will work. Ill post some pics if I come up with something that I think people may like.
