Its a small black box on my fire wall with one what appears to be a vacuum line coming out of it. It is also filled with a liquid. So what is this box and it's purpose?

That is a early alarm system from late 1970's early 80's they used to claim the FBI had them installed on their vehicles. I knew the guy who did the circuit board design for them, they were made here in Silicon Valley. I had one in my 69 Z/28 and it was a reliable system with few false triggers. Most other alarm systems were switch and voltage sensors, the Ungo box had a accellerometer (spelling?) in it that was a ball bearing that would roll and short traces of copper on the PCB of the main unit. I think the box you have located is an auxiliary antenna for the remote handheld trigger (another Ungo 1st.) There should be another box somewhere in your Vette with a black **** on it, the **** was to adjust the glass breakage sensor (again another Ungo 1st)
This unit was far and away the best alarm system offered when it came out. Now all you need is a Concorde HPL-510 stereo system and some Zapco amplifiers to complete the ultimate early 80's electronic ensemble.
