Hey Nick,
Did you buy it? Or still checking it out. We'll have to do a cruise together. With both going down teh street would look interesting.
This was the link I had to the 25th site but currently isn't working.

Hey Nick, congratulations. Looks real nice. We are diferingately gonna have to cruise together now.
FYI - There were only 2226 made in 78 with the Oyster Cloth interior (actually a combo leather and cloth). I have seen only one other 78SA with that combo and it wasn't an L82 4sp. I'm sure there's more out there, I just haven't seen them yet.
The engine looks real clean too. Should be a blast and you'll enjoy it. :chevy :chevy

Re: 1978 Silver Anniversary Registry? (78Vette-SA)
Thanks Joe!! Yep, we will have to cruise for sure!!
I did some calculating and with my combo, (L82, 4 speed, Silver Anniversary paint and the Oyster leather / Cloth interior, my 78SA is one of 25!!! I think I did this right!!
Total = 40,224
L82 = 12789 (32%) = 4890 Cars
4sp = 3385 (8%) = 415 Cars
Oyster = 2226 (6%) = 25 Cars

Nick,
Your method is probably about as good as any but GM didn't keep records to the level of how many L82/4sp/SA's were built with Oyster Cloth interior. Of the 2226 with Oyster Cloth, all of them could have been SA's. Definately not, but could have been . No real way to tell.
Still, I think the combo is somewhat rare. PErhaps reviewing the registry will help validate your method! :crazy:

Do you know anyone with a set of dealer plates I can use? I'm going to get one of the two tire car trailers to bring her back but, it would be great to drive it home..:)

Re: 1978 Silver Anniversary Registry? (SLICKMAN)
Nick,
Very nice SA. Ironically, I'm considering selling mine in for an early (97 or 98) C5. You have the only other leather/cloth oyster combination that I have ever seen besides mine. I love mine, and it's all original, but frankly I'm just soooo sick of working on the damn thing. So much maintenance involved. That's why I'm considering the C5.
I know that the cloth/leather seats can not be replaced. There are no reproduction cloth/leater seat covers in existance, and that's why they're so rare. When they go bad, they have to be replaced with the all-leather covers.
Congrats, and welcome to the club. I love mine, and definitely think it's one of the best looking Vette's of all time.

Vader953,
If you talk to Gary Gruhla he can have a set of the cloth/leather seats made. I had a set of seats custom made for my 78 Silver Anniversary but on a set of 80 frames though.
