Bumpers, 76
I have a 76. I removed both bumpers they were original and literally fell off the car.
I am replacing the rear bumper with a 1982 tru-flex. I have prepared the rear by removing nearly everything but the aluminum rear bumper (had to trim the middle flange for fitment. It is ready to go, not sure how to proceed from here with the little clamp bolts I have.
More troubling is the front bumper. This is the 1982 version that fits the 1976. It is not tru-flex and from what I can see is above my pay grade.
It does not look even close to fitting properly and will not flex like the rear bumper.
Question 1:
Can anyone give me some tips for the front bumper?
Question 2:
Does anyone know a decent body shop in Northern NJ that can tackle the for me?
Question 3: How do I proceed with the attachment of the rear bumper?
Thanks to all for your help.
Lastly, this is a lot of fun and although I have hit a few stumbling blocks this is really a rewarding restoration.
