Default headlight vacuum issues

I recently bought a 79 corvette. I am having problems getting the headlights to work correctly. I replaced the relays, actuators and the headlight switch. I replaced a couple of lines. The headlights pop up just fine when I pull the over ride switch. Does this sound like a vacuum leak. I have not replaced the filter or the check valve. How does either the check valve or the filter help in the process. I want to fix this problem and the backup ligth switch so the car passes inspection. I need some advice.

The Diagram is a great starting point. Check each hose individually to the diagram. My best recommendation is that relay to the actuators are mixed up. If they used the correct color coded hoses this is easy to fix using the diagram. Red strip on the top of the relays to the engine side of the actuator. Green strip on the bottom of the relays to the front side (head light side) actuator. But use the above diagram. It is very through. Good luck.

That's good news. Sounds like your actuators and relays are working well and your hose connections to those components are good.

No. I suspect the hose connections on your headlight switch are reversed.

They don't help in the process you're asking about.
