68 L36 Power steering pump
Here's my issue. Reassembling the front of the motor. Replaced power steering pump but could not get the original style pump. Was told the pump will fit, it does, but after installing the alternator, I cannot remove the ps pump cap. It hits the brace for the alternator. Does the pump reservoir style make a difference? First post rookie

The original pump had an angled neck. I had the same problem with a straight neck pump, did some shimming and as I recall used a different cap to get it so I could get the cap off.
