Default hate theft recovery vehicles! need help with fan

just bought a original fan right off a 75 corvette. the problem is the hole that goes onto the **** on the pump is 3/4 inch while the **** itself is 5/8. i assume this is no problem because the bolts will hold it tight but i wanted to ask the experts. my worry was that it might move around a little bit on that smaller ****. considering my fan just whacked the shroud and got stuck and overheated... i think this is a genuine concern
what year corvettes used the smaller **** and hole and what years used the bigger **** and hole? it's so fun dealing with a mix-n-match car... yeah right!
and in reference to my other post today, what years used the smaller (diameter) half shafts and what years used the bigger ones.

You have a pre 71 water pump installed, you should have a 3/4" inch shaft on the pump.

Many of the rebuilt water pumps come with a bushing to make up the difference. They don't always get installed.
