...this may help someone, seems a few of us are or have done this in more than one version or another. I installed one on my C4 and am using this same system on my C3 with a different fan. The only claim I'm making is that its simple, reliable, and inexpensive to do.
This is the best write up I've seen for it. hope it helps http://api.viglink.com/api/click?for...13350296310292
I run the older style Taurus fan on a rockcrawler jeep I drive. I have a SBC roller motor and I run my fan on low and it does great. The older fans have two electrical lines coming out. These are the good ones. Newer versions do not flow the same amt of air. Recommendation, get a 75 amp relay off ebay (Bose I think) and it does a great job when the fan kicks on. It pulls a ton at start up and then calms down on the amp draw.
A Mk.VIII fan I was testing pulled gravel off of my driveway and threw it up in the air. That thing moves some serious air...but you'd better beef up the electrical supply to feed it.
I am getting ready to install a taurus fan in my vette. Did alot of ready and searching on the web. I decided to go with a thermo switch to turn on low speed and have the high speed on a manual switch if needed.
