Have an 80 w/th350c would like to convert to rod6.
I would like to get started on the conversion but have not had much luck with suppliers for the kit.
Does anyone have any recommendations ?
There's no "kit". The ROD will bolt up to the Muncie bell housing/clutch, z bar. Tou'll have to source the auto to manual parts yourself.
SDparts had the best deal on the trans when I got mine.
If you want the original looking T handle, get a corvette 67 hurst shifter handle.
I believe summit and Jegs sells the transmissions also. It will come with a quality Long shifter that should fit in the stock location. You will need to modify your crossmember to move the trans mount location back a few inches. You will also need to buy a Corvette TH400 yoke and a conversion u joint. the stock driveshaft should work.
The ROD6 is the perfect transmission for you 1980. I went with the regular 5 speed, I wish I had the extra gear on the highway.
iokepakai recently installed one and should be able to help you with any questions. I bet he'll chime in here soon
