Default A Demon Roach?

Kinda reminds me of the Q-Jet sitting on my L36 and 65 442...
Just might have to waste some $$.

With the polymer bowl... it reminds of the Chrysler thermoquad..

Found a site http://www.carbkitsource.com/carbs/t.../TQ-index.html

I ran a Thermo Quad on my 12.45@113 MPH Street/Strip 340 Duster, it worked really well. I think I still have a Carter "Strip Kit" for a TQ in my parts cabinet. With an aluminum body its just another AVS Carter 4barrel carb. Edelbrock came out with their version of the AVS carb a few years ago, they work decent enough, I would go polymer body myself if I were buying one.

AVS= Air Valve Secondary instead of the weighted secondary flap of the original AFB 4BBL. I still have a tool I made years ago to adjust Thermo Quad secondary spring loaded doors, I made it my senior year in High School in metal shop, now I really dating myself, vocational training in High School, what a concept

I only remember that I got it from a Chrysler engineer, trying to get it to work on a 392 hemi that i had in a 40 ford p/u, and being glad I hadnt let a friend buy my holley cause it worked fine. always thought it was an ugly pos. wound up using it for a tire chock

Years ago I had access to a bunch of ex TX Highway Patrol cars...that then became taxi cabs! They had 440's and Thermoquads. We'd use them on various Chevy's and while pretty ugly..they worked OK.

I'll still take a Holley anyday.

I must be from the same era- Vocational Auto was an easy 'A' and a good way to burn up 2 periods in High School
Too bad many districts have abandoned the concept- At least it taught kids a usable skill.. Nowadays, they sit in front of the tube eating Doritos and weigh 300 lbs playing video games all day and complaining on how hard life is and why they can't get a job... or a date.....
