No year specified. You seem determined to do it. I would not. I like the original look. Emissions testings in your area?

I wouldn't take all of it out, 'What if ' you some day need it back, or you can't get it inspected sometime? You can't tell what will happen tomarrow, and you may need it. It can still go fast with that equipment.

Pitch it. I got rid of mine but hold onto some of it for emissions testing.

If you're not going the stock route, take out what you legally can, put the parts in a box(s) and mark. The parts may be of value to you someday or when/if you sell the car.

Be careful. Go to the NYS inspection & emission website to review requirements for your car and location within NY. I think the emission testing is different depending if you're in downstate or upstate New York. go here http://www.nydmv.state.ny.us/vehsafe.htm
