New to me 1973 Corvette with L-82, Rebuilt in 97 with Cam .298 lift & .447 duration from what i can tell.
#1. Radiator, Replace with Bee Cool aluminum or Recore?
#2. Quadra Jet by Carter 7047687 on bowl & 7044924 0n top.
Acts like its running out gas when you put your foot in it.
Runs great for a few seconds then cuts out. Let off it a little & it seems to catch up. I don't think it is the original carb for the car. So a good aftermarket Quad might be best bang for buck. any ideas?
THX
If .298" is the lift at the cam, a 1.5 ratio rocker would turn that into just about a .447" valve lift, maybe that is where these two numbers are coming from. Hmmmm, .447", eh? I wonder if it could be an old "151" cam?
Thats the info i found written in the paper work when i bought the car. I don't know much about cams so all help is much appreciated. I drain radiator to replace with Be Cool aluminum radiator & found a fuel line coming off of Pump kinked up against frame.
Just want a goods reliable fun driver. Thanks again for help
I have had several 73 L82's. I have always solved the "running out of fuel at higher RPM's" issue by blocking off the return fuel line. These cars seemed to want to suck some of the fuel back to the tank when you get to 4200-4500 RPM.
