Default Power steering

My '79 C3 recently had a power steering fluid leak which was fixed. Now it has developed a tendency to pull to the the right. The faster I go the more pronounced it is. It can be quite scary when you drive a left hooker in a LHD country.
I have had the wheels balanced and realigned the front bushes replaced and while it has improved slightly, the fault of suddenly lurching to the right remains. At 60 mph it is quite scary because you have to keep slight pressure on the steering wheel to stop the sudden urge it gets to veer right.
My advisors tell me they don't want to start playing with the steering system as they reckon it's alright but I'm reluctant to drive it too far as it is.
Any advice or commets welome.
Yours from New Zealand.

Was it fixed by replacing the steering control valve? I'll bet it was. IF this is the case, the control valve is out of adjustment.

The good news is that you can do this yourself...the problem is I dont remember if you need to go clockwise or counter clockwise! Im pretty sure that I also had a heavy right steer condition too and had to turn the nut counterclockwise about 1/2 turn, but I honestly dont remember. Here are some directions :
