Default Shifter for a 700R4

As the title states: looking for a floor shifter for a 700R4.
What brand are you guys using and how about a ratchet shifter?
Most of the time will be auto but on occasion I'd like to bang the gears.
Any comments welcome

I don't think there is anything off the shelf that will fit. There was a thread a while back about a guy that made a B&M Megashifter work with the console, but he fabricated a lot of stuff.

Not concerned about the console, really about the 700r4 and shifter combo.
Would anybody recommend going with a manual valve body and a ratchet shifter?

I have a B&M ratchet shifter. It's a bit big to fit under the existing console, but with a little Jerry Grease, you can make it work. Unless all you do is race, MVB & Ratchet shifter combo will wear your arm out before you get to the corner store.

That's one of the shifters on my short list.
The car is not a 'vette by the way, hence not worried about clearance issues.
Just need some info on ratchet shifters and the 700R4.

OK, I see where you're coming from. You can adapt a B&M Ratchet for 3 or 4 spd transmissions. I think I bought a kit to modify mine. Look on summit or B&M's web site - they should list what you need.

Shiftworks sells a kit to adapt the stock shifter to accommodate the 700r4.

Found one that I'm gonna use:

http://m.summitracing.com/parts/bmm-80885

For some curious reason it's like $50 more expensive on the B&M website
