Did you bench bleed the master cylinder?

Ive always wanted to pretend to be a scientist...lets use the scientific method [or what I recall to be the scientific method from 25 years ago in school]....

Ok, so fluid is going down in both compartments. Although you are implying it, Im going to make the hypothesis that if you were to bleed any one (1) specific caliper, fluid will disappear from both chambers of the master. Is this pretty much what you are telling us?

Pending that you have zero external leaks in the system otherwise, to me this would mean that you have an internal leak in the master...as the master bypasses itsself, it is allowing fluid to escape from both chambers, when you open the system at the caliper.

The only other place this could happen would be at the proportioning valve, but unless something was missing internally, Id have a real hard time believing a cross over of front and back brake fluid could happen there.

Test your master by plugging the exit ports and stepping on the pedal. If it does not hold, then you have found your problem.

The master must be bench bled. This is a very important first step and if not done properly may cause a lot of these types of issues. So we don't assume, original poster, please let us know what steps you took when you installed the master cylinder, why you changed it, and your procedure for bleeding. Be very specific please step by step.

the master was bench bleed. fluid is going down, as just one caliper is being bleed at a time.
