Default quick help guys

i just bought a 69 muncie 4 speed,im installing in a 77 corvette would i use the 68-76 shifter assembly or the 77-81 thanks

i have a 70 muncie in my 77.... the shifter (hurst) and the linkage is all from that 70 muncie...

You need to match the shifter, and its mounting plate, to your trans.

i have a hurst 3915403 i cant find out which mounting plate i need is there anyway to find out besides the hurst catalog

EDIT: Ugg... I just caught that you have a hurst shifter... I would assume either would fit just fine based on the information I Posted below.


The only difference between the factory four speed shifters from 1964-1967, 1968-1976 and 1977-1981 was on top.. The shaft and handle. All the lower component parts are the same. Example, the gates, lower bracket, and so on. So you can mount either shifter in the car. The handle on the 1968-1976 shifter was shorter.

with out you guys i would be pissing up a rope ,
also just got back from the monroe,wa swap meet picked up the mounting plate and the 464697 bellhousing both for under 150$$

ok guys im about to be done with the whole swap only part stopping me is the shifter handle i somehow forgot to order and i want it asap

do you guys know the hurst part number for the hurst shifter handler for the 77-81,oriely autoparts will order it and have in a few days but they need the part number

I've got one of those stock looking shifter handles that will bolt up to your shifter. Only problem is I have to find it but if you want it send me a pm and I'll send it to you. May not look the best in the world but at least the price is right.
