At present I have only the headers installed so I decide to run it around the block. I notice that after I let off the gas I will get a sizable pop out of the header.
Is this because the rest of the exhaust is not installed yet?
Or is it because the new headers is not making a good seal at the block?
the other recent change is new Univeral Spark Plug Wires...I had to cut and crimp to fit. I thought maybe one of those wasn't making good contact so I put a voltmeter on each of them and found anywhere from .8 to 1.1 ohms on all 8 of them..Is this ok ?
Then I removed the new wires and installed my old autozone set of wires back on and then started it back up, it would not pop anymore. When I put the new ones back on it would. not sure if that is coincidence or not...
is there anything else you changed, cause now the answer is, 'you didnt do a very good job with the wires'. try doing a better job....next time....or buy better wires, you're cross sparking
Any type of popping is a definite missfire. Sounds like you alreay found your problem by switching back to your old wires. MSD make a great set of 8.5mm wires that are universal fit and readily available over the counter anywhere.

I would say not in the case of open headers - listen to this Super Stock Hemi pop & backrap on decel. I was filming from the passenger seat back in 1982 or 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ts6-qOglPg
