Default Muncie Inspection Cover Difficulty

I am having difficulty removing the cover (the one on the driver side with 7 bolts) on my M20 trans. I just want to take a look at the gears and make sure it is alright before I put it in my car. I think it had 70,000 miles on it before I bought it.

Anyways, I've removed the 7 perimiter bolts, as well as the shifter arms. And the cover is still holding on like there is no tomorrow. I have already put a dent in one of those very small lugs protruding from the cover and don't want to damage it any more. Anyone have ideas or links to another forum or article with the same issue? I looked and didn't find anything, it was all about actually rebuilding it.

Thanks.

If you have all the bolts off. make sure shift arms are straight up(neutral)
It's probably been sealed on with RTV take a thin scraper and wedge it between the side cover and the main case.
It'll pop off,Start at the top

Once you get the cover loose you need to move the 3-4 leaver into the 3 position to get the forks out with the cover .
