Default L98 into C3 question

I am swapping a L98 engine and 700R4 trans from a 86 Corvette into my 79. Which alternator and AC pump do I use, the 79 or 86? I will be using the ECM from the 86 to run the TPI and maybe the fan. I have done several searches on this, but haven't found anything.

The L98 accessories will hit the front crossmember. Use the 79 stuff.

The L98 ECM does a good job of controlling an electric fan so yeah, that's what I'd do.

The ECM will also control lockup of the torque converter, much better than you can with a carbed car.

You'll also need to come up with a vats simulator or remove vats from the ECM.

Thanks guys. The way I see this now is, I will run the 86 harness from the ECM to the TPI, fan, sensors, and trans. I will use the 79 harness to run everything else air, heat , lights, windows and stuff. I will need a second temp sender for the gauge, and a way to power the ECM. Then I can worry about a fuel pump and drive shaft. I found a company that will remove the VATS. I have a new tailshaft extension and trans mount coming. If you can think of anything else please let me know. Like everyone else these days, I am doing this on a tight budget, and surprises cost more because they don't give you time to think about them!

Thanks, 71 rdster. That's very good to hear. Todays nasty discovery, I put my engine hoist together and discovered, I get to pull the motor and trans from the side of the car! That old car is planning to teach this old dog some new tricks.
