Default 68 Lower Column Bearing

Doing the Borgeson swap and found I needed a new lower bearing for my 68 tele column. Dr. rebuild is sold out (PN 6521139). Does anyone know if this one from Corvette Central will work (PN 562145) or is there a better option? http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb....~Z5Z5Z50000050

Sorry if I messed up the link...

Thanks,
I see it there. Not really concerned about the price, hopefully I won't have to buy another one for a while, but do you know if that corvette central part is a better design than the original design? My original was just in pieces and dont want to see that happen again, that roller design seems like it might hold up better?

Default Bronze bushing!

I too have the '68 only telescopic column. When my bearing fell apart, there was nobody offering a replacement. So, I replaced it with a simple oil impregnated bronze bushing.
Here's my reasoning... I steering column does not spin. It simply turns back and forth, usually less than 180 degrees at a time. So who needs rollers? Perfect job for a bushing.
I mic'd the shaft and the housing, bought a $5 oil impregnated bushing from a local bearing supplier, then has a mechanic buddy turn the diameters to the exact sizes needed.
It has worked flawlessly for probably 15 years so far!

I put a lower one in my 68 tele column, same as the 67 lower bearing if I remember correctly. Its fine.
