Are you going for the 8.7 pounds per hp more like ST2? I was looking at your cage. C-3's are tiny inside. The door bars need to be out inside the outer door skin. So you make the doors hollow with no inner panel. Road racing seats are big. Our shop has a few road racing Vettes and my 79 is caged.

The NASA rules allow unlimited stiffening. So you can make a 10 - 12 -14 point cage. I've done some NASA ST1 events

My advice is coil overs and big brakes with air ducting.

I was trying to find info on your le mans prototype chevy 4.5l 282ci.

I couldn't find anything. NASA uses engine dyno's to level the playing field. If it was me............. I'd be running the biggest ci for TQ and make it low in HP to meet the weight class

I'll be shooting for st1 my car weight is very low in full race trim it should be around 2000lbs the power of the engine is 550 @ 7500 the specs are 4.155 bore 6" rod 348 stroke v6 13.3 to1 gm heads with allot of work solid roller with 670 lift and a gm cross ram intake there are not allot of motors like this out there but there are allot of the Buick engines and this is a Chevy copy

As far as brakes I have a wilwood set up there will be cooling ducts and I'll be running a quick change with a double a arm set up and a cantilever suspension

2000 is tough figure to get to. Interesting engine. I would still build a 434 small block and make 550 hp with nearly 600 foot pounds of TQ

I understand where your comming from with the 434 that would be a great motor but what I would gain in tq I would be adding in lbs I'm in the high 400s in tq but around 160lbs lighter witch will help in the handling plus this engine is what I have and a 434 is big$$$$$

I was trying to dig for info on him. He used to be on this forum and won the west coast championship in NASA st1 he bought a "BadAss" motor 434 ci 675 hp he had the lap record at infinion race way. anyway he gave up on his vette after a couple of years and went class racing in a Mustang

The motors are only like $13K and the aluminum Dart blocks are only $3000 more. His race weight more like wet 2850 with driver

Dang, that is some beautiful welding.

Assume you'll tie the cage down to the frame just ahead of the kickups, and while you're already going to this much effort I'd definitely run it forward up to the front suspension.
