Cool. There's plenty of us in the area if you need any quick info or anything. Good to see more 20-somethings with classic Corvettes. (I'm 25)
Save that 1200 for things that are going to pop up unexpectedly (because they will).
Looks like it could be a good deal, you'll want to look over the frame and the condition of a few things like transmission, brakes, engine (watch for smoke, do a compression test). Also I hope you do have a good multi meter, a lot of patience and some spare wiring. He mentioned he "removed the wiring harness" and it "needs some electrical work", hopefully that doesn't mean that none of the guages work and half the electric accessories don't work....
That would be a big concern for me, but other than that it looks like it could be a very fun ride! What was his horsepower estimate anyways?
Good choice getting a C3. I think you will like it alot and have alot of fun working on it. That car is something you can keep forever so don't worry about getting all your mods done at once.
I thought it was on the auction page, but it must have been in an e-mail he sent me. He said he thinks the car has somewhere near 300 hp. I'm no expert, but I didn't think he listed enough parts for it to be anywhere near that. I was figuring somewhere around the low 200's.
When I check the frame, is there something in particular I should look for? And should I take any tools with me? How do I prevent surprises?
