Power steering pump seizing / binding? Help

OK, when the car gets warmed up and has been down the road 20min or more, I get occasional power steering pump binding that is severe enough to squeal the belt, and one time killed the engine when maneuvering low speed.
I have made sure the fluid is topped up, and the belt is plenty tight. Fluid looks good and car was recently gone through.
I have read about the somewhat unique (at least me) power steering linkage and problems associated with the centering, leaking, etc. But I'm not having those issues.
Based on this I am thinking the pump is bad, but wondered if y'all had seen before and is it related to the power steering operating cylinders and controls? Obviously there would be some sort of pressure release valve to return fluid back to the pump.

if you are going to a hydroboost also in the future you want a pump that was made for it also.. has a little more pressure and or flow i understand to run both.. i changed to this and... well.... very very happy.
