Can someone post pics of a C3 with chrome Z06 rims.A black one if available. And if you all can't find one can some one please photoshop one.
Thanks guys.And will they fit?
You primary problem fitting any wheel is wheel width, which governs tire width, and may limit the height/size also...of course...
I have 17x9.5 rims from a '92 with VB adaptors on my car...with stock trailing arms, moved the ebrake cable mounting tab....
my arrangement keeps the wheel centerline the same as stock, centered that is..
so anything wider in the rear would require the offset T arms....and I"m not sure exactly how much additional width that change would allow....
it's not wheel diameter, it's wheel width....and centerline that limits...
tires come in various sizes when NITTO finally came out with 275/50/17 well that's what's on the rear now....255 up front...steering clearance....
now the stock 40 series tires can work also, of course, but look ricey in the large wheel wells....
thing about large diameter wheels, is pretty quickly over 17 inch they lend a ricey look to the car....not to mention the wheels and tires cost more than the damn car, for christsakes....
I was going to try this conversion and the backspacing is over the limit. Your going to have to get someone to knock them off with the right backspacing.
Sting74, nice photoshop pic that almost looks real!!!
mrvette, its me again, could you measure the adaptors youve got from VB? They are saying Illl need either a 2 1/2" or 2 1/4" adaptors to fit the ZR1 17x9.5 wheels on my 69'. I was planning on ordering a pair of each to test fit them.
Could you post (or email if you prefer) any pics you have of your setup.
Thanks again

Re: C3 with Zo6 rims? (Merlin522)
You may want to look at the Center Lines Lazer wheel they look very similer to the Z06 wheels but are polished and are 17x8 I think they would fit without the spacers.
Zack, see my sig file for how they look, the VB adaptors are totally safe and are 2.5 inch in my case....2.25 will not work.....the offsets are rong...
I forget the spacing, but take a straight edge...piece of wood and lay it across the WHEEL rim inside there, and tape measure it to the mounting flange, do that in both cases....now do a bit of calculator work so the wheel retains the same centerline....you will probably come up with 2.5 inch thick adaptors...as I did....I did this several years ago, before VB had thick adaptors available in their catalogue...in fact I prompted them as to just how thick to make them for this application....
now I don't know jack schitt about ZO6 wheels, as I haven't ever layed hand on them....
Well, I never liked the Crager SS wheels back in the daze of yore, thought they looked ugly then and still do...chrome wheels are flat ugly...period...
now the dark grey/black 5 spoke original TTD's from American were great, I thought....dark grey with brushed aluminum rim.....but when I did my car 6 years ago, were NOT available in larger sizes, hard to find any at all for that matter....
so I thought to mimick the idea, but use a stock Vette rim...so I came up with what's in my sig file....
now a daze the tires are no longer the 275/40 as shown...but 255/50 up front and 275/50 in rear....taller profile, fills the wells better...
i like that look... i wonder if you could cut the center piece out, slide it farther back... but then you have rim out on the front, i guess you could do a complete custom... $$ :yesnod:
