I got a Edelbrock carb when i swap my engine a few years ago but it seems that i can't get it to work like i want. Always get back fire when it's cold. Some said i should swap my carb for a Holley. I don't know what to do. I also have a hard time starting it when it's hot.

FWIW, the Edelbrock carb is based off the old Carter AFB. Personally, I think the Holley is a more "user friendly" design, but Edelbrock has a good reputation for standing behind their products.
I would consider shooting Edelbrock's tech line an e-mail, outlining your set-up, as well as the issues you're having, and see if they can give you some tips to get you running correctly.
Electric. I hook it on the live ( when the key is on) wire from the wiper motor. I checked i do have power to the choke when the ignition is on.
I did something like that with a Pontiac T/A I used to own...I piggybacked on to the wiper motor terminal. What I didn't know, was at one point the choke power wire fell off, and the car started really hard. It was only a summer driver, so it wasn't that big a deal, but nonetheless annoying.
I found the problem a couple of months before I sold the car, at which point I did what I should have done in the beginning...I got one of those inline fuse with 6" of wire on each side of the fuse deals, and ran it through a grommet on the firewall, to a 12V source that was "on" with the ignition, at the fuse box. Car worked a lot better after that...
