Default New Alternator Wiring on '79

I'm putting in a ZZ4 crate engine, with serpentine setup, in my '79 vette. The new alternator comes with a different plug than the stock connector. I haven't had any luck finding an electrical diagram. Can anyone here give me some pointers? Below is a link to pics of my stock connector and the connector for the new alternator. Any assistance much appreciated. Almost finished with this project...

After some more digging, it looks like the Red wire goes to the "S" post and the brown goes to the "L". Can anyone confirm that?

Look on the net for cs130 adapter plug. They can also be found at local parts stores. If you have a gen light you will need a different one than if you don't.

Yep,
It's important for that CS130 that you designate if you have gen light or not. If not, then you need to get the adapter that has built in resistance. If you do have a gen light then the incandescent light bulb will provide the resistance you need. I wired my 70 with a custom gen light and I got the adapter by Painless from Summit. Nice little kit. It came with a resistor in the pack to cover both bases. If you don't get this resistance scenario straight, your alternator will go "bye bye" in a couple hundred miles.
Good luck.

Thanks for the response. I appreciate the help. I guess I need to figure out if I have a gen light. Don't seem to recall...

IF you are running a CS144 alt, all you really need is the L connection S may help.....S is always live with battery voltage ign sw on or off....

L is only live when sw is on....now many sharks did not have a light, just a resistance wire to that alt sense point....it is always from a switched source, never live with ign sw OFF....
