69 parking brake question??

69 parking brake question??
friend called me from arkansas, he bought a 69 and was doing brake job and he noticed on one side the adjuster for the parking brake (round tube with star adjuster) was missing, everything else is there. Question is: other than no adjustment on that side, can he drive it that way without any damage....springs holding parking brake shoes are still there and connected to shoes. Thanks, I was at a loss to advise on this one with confidence.

My question would be where did those missing parts go? If they are in fact not there and the shoes are still held by the other hardware, then driving it should not be a problem. But I'd still want to know for sure the adjuster stuff is not rattling around in there.
