69 triva question.
I have a sales brochure that shows options It shows that the only combination of A/C and automatic trans was with the two 350 engines. Are there any atuomatics big block's with A/C? :confused:

You could not get the automatic transmission with the L46 smallblock either. So if you wanted A/C and A/T you only had the choice of 300, 390, or 400hp.

I do not believe you could get A/C and an automatic on ANY big block, According to the sales brochure and some other sources.. The IAM shows no A/C idle solenoid for any trans except M-20 and M-21. By reading the IAM it lools like there were no automatic A/C optioned cars. According to the brochure the only automatic with A/C was the base 350.

The 390 and 400HP 427's were most definitely available with air and/or automatic and/or 4 speed.
Regarding the idle solenoid, I'm well versed in that subject :). ALL AC cars had the solenoid, regardless of automatic or manual trans. SOLID lifter big blocks, including L88, L89, and "regular" 435's with automatic (no AC available) ALSO used the solenoid.
I've seen many 427 390 and 400 cars with AC and/or automatic. Chuck
