Speedo just stopped working so I pulled the cable from the S-T10 trans. and put it on a drill to spin it (in reverse)...speedo works fine. So I pulled the driven gear and the bullet out to inspect them. They look perfect. I then put my finger in the hole at the tranny and can feel the drive gear...it is not loose. I can actually see it with a flashlight and it looks good...no missing splines...
I am stumped and looking for an idea...
thanks
No answer but put the driven gear back in, making sure it's indexed right and everything.
Fine a small screwdriver (flat or better yet, square) that fits into the gear where the speedo cable would go and try to turn it.
It shouldn't turn since it's into the drive gear.
