Need Opinions on Wiper Safety Switch Problem.
I'm working on trying to get my wiper door and stuff together.
I was able to get both the wipers and the wiper door working seperately a couple weeks ago. Now I'm trying to get them to work together.
When I hit the switch, the wipers start going at the same time that the door starts to open. So I suspected the safety switch on the firewall. Adjustment didn't seem to work so I totally removed the 'L' shaped braket and adjusting screw that activates it. In other words, it should be impossible for the wipers to turn on - ever. But they do!
So I checked the switch and it seems to be working fine. So that means the interupt circuit must not be working elsewhere or is bypassed. The wires coming from the switch are red ones. Hanging under the dash is an 'L' shaped connector with two red wires on it. It's not connected and I'm suspisious that this could be part of the interupt circuit. Where does the intrupt circuit actually tie into the system? Is it at the selenoid behind the tach? Does the unconnected wires under the dash sound like the ones for the wiper sytem?
This car has AC so I can't see up in there without tearing it apart. Anybody know what's happening here??
A wiper sytem wiring diagram would be really helpful too!
Thanks!

The wiper motor itself isn't the correct one. It should have a red wire coming from the gearbox that the firewall safety switch connects too. I believe that must be unique to Vettes with a wiper door. Oh well, I'l just have to remember to hit the door override befire the wiper switch until I find a correct motor.
