I have a 1969 coupe, 350 4-speed which I believe is the 350HP engine type. On the front right of the block are stamped the codes in the title to this thread. I've tried to ID the engine without success. Can anybody help? The center console in the car does identify it as a 350HP 11:1 compression engine but I want to be sure.

Thanks Mike. I asked Ed and I'll ask you too: What reference info did you use? I know there's books available from Chevy which have this information available but I couldn't find my code online.
Phil, the "Chevrolet by the Numbers" series by Alan Colvin is probably the best for engine codes, casting numbers, and a lot more. There are 4 in the series (not including the one just for Corvettes) and they're available in most restoration houses. Highly recommended!

I had an NCRS (Hey look- I said it and didn't burst into flames ) book next to me at the time, but there's many on-line guides that have all GM codes and not just Corvette. Knowing how to initially breakdown the alpha numeric code to extract just the machine code is important too.
