I want to get headers, but don't know which brand to go with (dynomax, hedman, hooker) don't know which size, or series to get... Can anyone direct me in the right direction :)
The best header made is probably Hooker Super Comps but they are more expensive than most. I bought a set of Flow-Tech (cheap) headers 5 years ago for about 400 Cdn. I think and they haven't burnt out yet. For a mild performance application all you'll need is 1 5/8 primaries and probably a 2.5" or 3" collector. Go to a speed shop in your area or search onlince and look them up by application.
I'm leaning more towards the dynomax ceramic coated ones... from what i've read they seem to be pretty good and affordable... So 1 5/8 with a 3 inch collector. DO i need to buy anything else, like brackets reducers etc, or is everything needed included when you buy them?
If you wanted to drive all the way down to Minneapolis, I would GIVE you my old headers. They were painted and are starting to rust (just through the paint, not major). I got new Hooker Comps, and these appear to be the same exact bend, only the old ones are about 3 inches longer (give or take). That is such a long drive though, you might save money by not coming down. :D . BTW, the Hookers are made with 16 guage primaries, the Hedmans and Dynomax' are 18 guage.
HHmmmm you'd give em to me?! thats not such a bad idea.. it's only about a 4 hour drive or so, minneapolis is pretty close actually. do you know the part number or the new ones you got by any chance
