The seats in my 'Vette don't work well anymore. The little adjuster ***** are out of alignment or something. Can anyone tell me if u can switch seats from say a 1981 Vette into a 1978 one? Or better to have the ones sent in for repair?
Why not just fix yourself? If it is the adjuster *****, fix them or get new ones. What is the problem? Could be the foam is crumbling and no longer allows the seat to feel like it is straight. I just redid my seats and foam. Very easy job. If it is just the adjusters, even easier.
What is the seat doing to make you think they are out of alignment?
Look into fixing yourself. Saves a lot of money, unless you just want new seats.
Thank you for reply. well a couple ***** aren't there (plastic blocks screwed in place). The seats slide forward/backward just fine. However, the backs no longer are adjustable. Pretty sure something broke in both. Heard something go in the passenger seat back when person got out. This one u can not move at all;perhaps **** slipped off. Skins are pretty decent for 34 years old. Foam is fine.
