Default 1981 Light Electrical Problems

I am reaching the end of a restoration on a 1981 Corvette. I have been installing the interior and noticed a few problems. I don't want to put the dash or console in until I get these things fixed. My problems are:

1) I have 2 interior lights that stay on all the time. Even when the switch is off and the doors are closed. The light in the windshield wiper switch and the light for the shifter. Any idea what the problem could be?

2) The A/C fan blower switch has 4 positions. The fan speeds up as you move the switch to the higher positions except for the last position. The fan slows down to the slowest speed in what should be the fastest position. The blower fan is new but the switch is the one that came with the car when i got it. Could the switch be bad?

3) I noticed that the light switch gets really hot sometimes. Especially the white part that looks like ceramic material. The switch is new. Is this normal?

4) Also, the plastic vacuum line that goes to the heater valve is broken. Is there any good way to attach a rubber line to the plastic one? Any good way to repair this?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like your light switch may not be working right

Maybe, check the relay on the firewall and the connector on the firewall

it gets hot because its on
4) Also, the plastic vacuum line that goes to the heater valve is broken. Is there any good way to attach a rubber line to the plastic one? Any good way to repair this?
Pics?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Here is a schematic for the lights

Here is one for the blower. Check the relay on the firewall and the electrical connector behind the passenger head for burned connections

Ok this sounds good. I have another light switch I will try.

I bet the problem with the fan speed is the relay. I heard something making a clicking noise on the firewall in this area.

The light switch gets wicked hot. Hot enough that I am worried about the plastic connection melting.

Can't send a picture of the line right not. It broke close to where it plugs into the heater valve. The heat probably made it brittle over the years. I am thinking of getting a standard rubber vacuum line and sliding the plastic line into the rubber line. Then using some shrink wrap to seal the connection. The other end of the rubber line will plug into the heater valve.

If you hear the relay click, check and make sure the big wires have power. One goes to the blower motor, the other is the power feed.
