Does anyone know if the 81's had an insulated hood? I can't seem to find any information on this. If someone offers a hood insulation, please let me know.
checked CA, Mamo, cc catalogs and only shows parts listing up thru 1979. The insulations used to keep the hood cooler so as to not cause paint blistering.

Hate to disagree, but I've always heard that the insulation was used to keep the noise of the engine in the engine bay and not the heat factor. I read that here in the forum. I took my insulation off my hood about 4 years ago (it was really looking ratty) & I haven't noticed any paint problems...I drive mine everyday in the Louisiana heat!

correct- nothing to do with heat, noise reduction only.
I just learned myself it wasn't on this year model. But if you are you looking to put it in anyway there is a guy who makes real nice aftermarket liners I found out about here on CF. Check out http://www.hoodliners.net/. This is mine I bought from Gonzo.
