Sidepipes on the '82

Sidepipes on the '82
as I wait for the funds to make the immediate fixed to the car, I ponder possibilities. one was sidepipes. I see 4 options.
1. don't
2. go for it (and break the federal emmissions law)
3. put them on for show
4. modify the exhause system to split after the catalytic converter and through the pipes
thoughts?

I am thinking the same thing for my 80. I have come to learn that splitting after the converter will hurt performance so that may not be the choice.

I don't remember who it was but someone on this forum has cats between the headers and the sidepipes. This is custom fabricated of course but it appears it can be done. He also said he passes his state emissions test without any problem. Sorry but I can't remember who was posting this info :conehead
I'd say go for it either way sidepipes on vettes are super :cool: I can't wait to get a set of hookers (headers :D ) for mine. :seeya
