dead battery
just went to startup the vette and the battery is dead..in fact the alarm wasnt even working the battery was that dead..im wondering if i did something wrong when i hooked up the amp last weekend? what else would kill a new battery so..what a weird battery week for me,first the wifes mr-2's battery dies and now mine...whats the chances :cry

You state that you installed an amp. How was it wired (switched source?)? What is its draw? I'd suspect it is taxing your 20 year old charging system or the battery was on its last legs and the introduction of the amp pushed it over the edge. May need to test your charging circuit to determine health. I'd also have the alternator checked out. If below 13.5 volts output, it is too tired and can't support the draw. I had my alternator tested today and it was pumping a steady 14.5 volts back into the system.
