new cam
i put in a new cam[xe256h-10 comp cam]now the car likes lots of advance timing.is this normal? any idea where i should put it?so far i have been adj it back and forth to try and find where it runs best.

Advance it as far as you can without the motor pinging. That is just my opinion. I think the more advance the better, until you get detonation.

If you tune it passed 38 degrees total then something might be a miss, ranging from incorrect cam timing to a "slipped" harmonic balancer.
