78 fuel filter
Anyone know if the fuel filter on a 78 has a check valve type ball. If so is it in the filter? Took mine out and all there is is a spring and the filter. How does it stop flow back to the pump? Any help would be appreciated.

It should be part of the filter which you should see when looking in one of the ends. If not there somebody put the wrong filter in. This link gives you the correct NAPA part number.

After reading your response I went to NAPA and bought the filter. Just like you said, mine was messed with. The new one has a check ball inside the filter....mine did not. Thanks for the great info.
