im thinking 20's for my 69 .I have searched a few posts but was wondering what is the best offset for c3 and 20's us mags also make a similar wheel i like .thinking 18's would be best but those 20s look great in the pic
stock offset is 4" but depends on wheel width. Have you considered that the 69 suspension, springs, etc. was never designed to work with a tire with such an extremely short sidewall? Are your roads smooth as glass?

What's the difference between 69 and say 82 suspension??? There are many C3's running the larger rims. I've got 19's on the rear of my C3, and it handles like a new car.
We're running 18" on our 82 .... handling was better .. ride about the same .... with less side wall you certainly will notice a difference in ride IMO ..... We stayed at 18" only because of the look .... needs some sidewall to keep the classic look ..... again IMO ........
my only regret is that we went with 4.0 BS on the front ... should have been 4.5 to fill the well ... will probably use a spacer ....

To start with the 69 has solid aluminum body mounts, the 82 has rubber mounts, makes a big difference in ride quality. The springs on a 69 were designed in a time where you had the equivalent of 70 series tires. By the time you get to 82 the Corvette engineers were designing the car to give a smoother ride using 60 series tires still on 15" wheels. The sidewall takes the impact of road bumps and absorbs them. As you lower the sidewall the rest of the suspension has to aborb that energy. By the time you get to a 20" wheel you dont have much sidewall left. I'm not disputing the handling, I'm saying the ride stiffness will increase greatly.
Thanks i think ill stay 18's roads are not good here and i guess your right need a little rubber to keep that classic look . Iam about to fit new a arms and coilovers plus shark bite rear .going for medium springs from speed direct

For what it's worth I would not suggest going bigger than 18s.
18x8 with a 4" backspace in the front and 18x9.5 in the rear with a 5" backspace should work with no issues.
From: Who says "Nothing is impossible" ? I've been doing nothing for years.
I think those are the new Foose wagon train wheels.
When I put the 18" Toyo T1R's on mine was expecting to have my fillings vibrate out. To my surprise these tires gave me a smoother ride than the BFG's I took off and cornered like it was on rails. Must be the rubber compound, the are Ultra High Performance wheels too, who woulda thunk that
Just bought new 15 x 8 wire wheels for my 82'. I think I screwed up. My old 15x8's were also deep dish but they had a 4" offset? The new ones are about 2 1/2". The wheels look like they will stick out too far.
Do you think If I switched from a 255/60/15 to a 225/65/15 or 225/70/15 it would make up the difference? Or, would 7" wide rims sit deeper into the wheel well? Do they make rotors that are shorter to pull the wheel lugs back? Thanks for any help!

What wheels and tire size are you running? those look perfect

i think that's them 18s are the choice thanks for specs as well
They look like rally wheels, however are cast aluminum.
- Should weigh less than half of the rally wheels.
- Good compromise for side wall height and give much better handling.
I like the "original" 15" look, however, I like these as well.

20" is much too small now a days, the Ghetto Dwellers are rolling around on much bigger wheels.......God please introduce some sanity back into this planet.......someone please start producing a good quality performance 245/60/15 tire like I used to run on my LT-1 back in the 80's! I'll even take some "H" speed rated tires PLEASE!

thanks I think I will try 17 " car has original side exhaust pipes , wondering if I will run into room problems there ?

I don't see any issues/interference with the side exhaust. The pipes are far away from the tires.
Typically, when you run 17" tires (or any larger wheel), you choose a 17" tire with the same overall diameter as the 15".
Example:
I now run 245/60/15, about 26.5" diameter.
If I switched to 17" wheels, I would likely use something near a 255/45/17, @ 26.1"

Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
